Here’s a sampling of some of my favorite things. Click here to see more.
BAM! It’s grilling season so I thought I would include one of my favorite spice blends for barbecuing. I love to coat burgers and steaks with Emeril’s spice blend that certainly helps you “kick it up a notch”!
I have always loved my Le Creuset Dutch Oven but I just started using my Le Creuset braiser. It’s obviously braises beautifully but it also served as a wonderful deep frying/sautee pan. The enamel coating makes for each cleanup!
I use a silicon spatula almost every time I cook — easy to cleanup, doesn’t sratch pots, and doesn’t conduct heat.
Since garlic is a staple ingredient in my kitchen, I use this tool almost every time I cook! Zyliss, a Swiss company, makes the best garlic press I have every used. You don’t even need to remove the skin! And, it’s non-stick coating makes it easy to cleanup.
Chipotle Peppers in Adobo Sauce
Chipotle peppers in adobo sauce add a wonderful heat and smokiness to chili, taco filling, and burgers. Beware…a little goes a long way.
I think everyone know by now that I like spicy food! Here is my favorite Asian hot sauce — Huy Fong’s Tuong Ot Sriracha. It’s a delicious blend of purée of fresh red jalapeños, garlic powder, sugar, salt and vinegar. Tim bought me my first bottle of this sauce as little unexpected gift many years ago. I was thrilled and this distinctive sauce is now a staple in our fridge!

Hey Jess! I love checking in on your blog – you do a great job! I have a new-found use for my garlic press: baby food musher. I can do single servings of soft foods (banana, sweet potato, avocado, rice, etc) much faster and finer than I can get it with a fork for a hungry baby.
I also love my immersion stick blender for pasta sauce and soups.
Thanks for sharing your recipes and stories. I find it inspirational and enjoyable!
Thanks so much, Amanda!! I love my immersion blender too. I will definitely add onto this page. Who knew the garlic press was so versatile! Hope all is well with you, Scott, Jackson and Maeve!
